In order to display books, artwork, or china on your floating shelf, it’s best to have either a groove or a small lip to help keep things upright. When you add a V-Groove to your floating shelf order, we’ll cut a 1/2″ wide by 1/4″ deep V-groove 3″ from the back edge of the wall shelf for $25 each.

Store items such as books or display decorative plates on an floating wood shelf. Add a 1/4" narrow lip to keep items from sliding off the front edge. This addition of a lip is possible with any of our custom floating shelves. To add a ¼” X ¼” lip for $40 each. The lip will be at least 1/4″ set back from the front edge: Please provide a simple dimensioned sketch showing the location on your floating shelf so we can get it right. 

If your job requires a paint color other than our standard Decorator white or Black we'll make any paint color you desire. This is a one-time charge per color regardless the size of the order to cover our cost on the paint as well as disposal of any leftover. 

Custom paint color can only be combined with an order for White shelves, we do not paint any of the other wood choices.

For most of your typical BN M or SW colors we only need the color name/number. In rare cases we'll need a physical chip to match up to if our paint shop is making it for the first time.

We use pigmented conversion varnish only offer low-gloss 20° sheen.

We need an actual physical sample, we cannot work from a photo or reproduced image.

When your sample arrives at the shop, we will create a control sample for your shelves, it usually takes about 5-7 working days to make a control sample.

We then cut our control sample in half, and send one of the pieces back to you for approval.

Once you approve the color, your shelves will go into production and will be finished to match our control sample.

It is $125 to create the match and send sample for approval, then $65 per shelf to do the staining work. You must purchase Stain Matching Labor in conjunction with the matching service. *(Stain matching service and staining labor is not subject to any discounts).

Our stain matching labor is the production step to get your new shelves to match up with the control sample we create for your shelves after you purchased our initial stain matching service.

Once you approve the color, your shelves will go into production and will be finished to match our control sample.
