Our Red Oak floating shelves are natural Red Oak wood veneer on multi layered solid poplar core for ultimate strength and dimensional stability. Finished with premium quality low-sheen clear conversion varnish. All shelves are made to order. (minimum size is 3" X 9", maximum is 16"X 93") These shelves are between 4.1 and 6" thick. Please specify exact thickness required in your order below.

Red Oak (Quercus rubra) is native to North America. Red Oak, in ideal conditions, is considered a fast growing tree. Popular uses include flooring, veneer, interior trim, cabinetry, furniture, and floating shelves.
Our custom floating shelves come with our own mega strong Übermächtig hardware. Lots of advanced DIY’ers have successfully installed our shelves however keep in mind some installations may require tools and skills that are beyond most DIY’ers in which case it’s a job for a seasoned and skilled finish carpenter. Our übermächtig hardware has long been trusted as a solid, dependable bracket for floating shelves when installed professionally. Each box of wall mounted floating shelves includes one of the following types of hardware:
Standard floating shelf with our übermächtig hardware works well on an open wall application.
Loose cleat one end is a great solution when a shelf meets a wall or a cabinet and also includes our übermächtig hardware.
Loose cleat two ends is a great solution when a shelf is in an alcove and also includes our übermächtig hardware.
Shelving Details
Our shelves are finished with clear low-sheen conversion varnish. It is a high-grade finish used by quality cabinet builders and furniture makers around the globe. If you plan to use another finish, stain, oil, or use any other finish of your choice, you may select the “*unfinished” checkbox when entering your order and your shelves will be delivered unfinished raw wood.
* Unfinished raw wood is available in the following finishes: African Mahogany, Ash, Bamboo, Cherry, Maple, Red oak, Rift white oak, Teak, Walnut
