Our Rift White Oak floating shelves are hand-made in any size. Free shipping, custom made in the USA to any size, ships in 10 working days. Installation hardware included. Our Rift white oak floating shelves are natural Rift white oak wood veneer on multi layered solid poplar core for ultimate strength and dimensional stability. Finished with premium quality low-sheen clear conversion varnish. All shelves are made to order. (minimum size is 3" X 9", maximum is 16"X 93") These shelves are 2-4” thick. Please specify exact thickness required in your order below.

White Oak (Quercus alba) is native to North America, and is the official state tree of Maryland. It is a dense, strong, stable wood. White oak is what is traditionally used in American Craftsman furniture, also in boatbuilding, and the finest whiskey and wine barrels. Kentucky State law specifies only new white oak barrels can be used to make Kentucky bourbon. White oak is a high-strength wood that is naturally decay- and insect-resistant, making it suitable for barn timbers and farm fencing.
Rift-sawn white oak is created by milling the planks at an angle that is perpendicular to the growth rings. This method of sawing highlights long straight grains in the wood.

Standard floating shelf with our übermächtig hardware works well on an open wall application.
Loose cleat one end is a great solution when a shelf meets a wall or a cabinet and also includes our übermächtig hardware.
Loose cleat two ends is a great solution when a shelf is in an alcove and also includes our übermächtig hardware.
Shelving Details
Our shelves are finished with clear low-sheen conversion varnish. It is a high-grade finish used by quality cabinet builders and furniture makers around the globe. If you plan to use another finish, stain, oil, or use any other finish of your choice, you may select the “*unfinished” checkbox when entering your order and your shelves will be delivered unfinished raw wood.
* Unfinished raw wood is available in the following finishes: African Mahogany, Ash, Bamboo, Cherry, Maple, Red oak, Rift white oak, Teak, Walnut
