Constructed from natural oak veneer on a high-strength furniture-grade plywood core. Finished with premium quality clear conversion varnish over our proprietary Chocolate espresso stain process.The cross-grain layered core won't split, crack, or warp the way solid lumber can — exceptional strength and dimensional stability, finished by hand with the highest quality finishes.

Each shelf includes our exclusive Übermächtig mounting system. Many advanced DIYers install our shelves successfully; however, some installations may require the tools and skills of an experienced finish carpenter. Please review our full installation page before ordering.

Our Chocolate espresso oak shelf slabs are the wood portion
of the shelf without mounting hardware — essentially a finished wood panel
ready for your project. Ideal for cabinet tops, decorative bracket shelves,
desktops, table tops, bench tops, and other custom applications.

Constructed from natural oak veneer on a
high-strength furniture-grade plywood core.
When finished, the panel is done on the top, bottom, one long edge, and both
short ends; the back edge is left unfinished, with back-edge finishing
available on request.

Available from 3" × 9" up to 28" × 96",
in thicknesses from 1/2" up to 6". Need a larger size or special
configuration? Contact us for a quote.

Note: 1/2" slabs are finished on one face only. The
reverse side may be a different species or grade of wood.

For niche installations, hidden wood cleats attached to
three walls often provide the simplest and most effective solution. For closet openings and other enclosed spaces where traditional floating shelf installation is not possible, our split-assembly shelf design allows the shelf to be installed in sections and assembled on site.

Our mitered corner Chocolate espresso oak floating shelves
are built with a permanently assembled miter joint and ship in one piece.
Choose an inside corner shelf or an outside corner wraparound shelf. Each leg can be specified independently — set the two leg lengths (A and B) and the depth (C) in the configurator. Lead time is 10–15 working days.

Corner shelves mount diagonally across the corner, so they
can't be used where there's an adjacent wall or adjacent cabinetry — the shelf must be installed before the cabinet.

Need a larger corner shelf? For sizes beyond our standard
mitered corners, two shelves can be assembled on site to form an L shape. See our corner shelves page for how the WC1E configuration works.

About The Wood

White Oak (Quercus alba) is native to North America, and is the official state tree of Maryland. It is a dense, strong, stable wood. White oak is what is traditionally used in American Craftsman furniture, also in boatbuilding, and the finest whiskey and wine barrels. Kentucky State law specifies only new white oak barrels can be used to make Kentucky bourbon. White oak is a high-strength wood that is naturally decay- and insect-resistant, making it suitable for barn timbers and farm fencing.
