Our ready-to-paint floating shelves are made from MDF, edged with maple veneer to save you time getting a nice, smooth painted finish. MDF gives you an ultra-smooth, grainless surface that paints up beautifully, and the maple-veneer edges mean clean edges without the extra prep. Prime and paint any color you like — the most affordable way to get a fully custom-colored shelf.

Available from 3" × 9" up to 16" × 96". Thicknesses from 1-3/4" up to 6". Need thicker than 6"? Contact us for a quote.

Each shelf includes our exclusive Übermächtig mounting system. Many advanced DIYers install our shelves successfully; however, some installations may require the tools and skills of an experienced finish carpenter. Please review our full installation page before ordering.

For niche installations, hidden
wood cleats attached to three walls often provide the simplest and most
effective solution. For closet openings and other enclosed spaces where
traditional floating shelf installation is not possible, our split-assembly shelf

Corner Shelves

Our corner floating shelves are built with a permanently assembled miter joint and ship in one piece. Choose an inside corner shelf or an outside corner wraparound shelf.
Each leg can be specified independently — set the two leg lengths (A and B) and
the depth (C) in the configurator. Lead time is 10–15 working days.

Corner shelves mount diagonally
across the corner, so they can’t be used where there’s an adjacent wall or
adjacent cabinetry — the shelf must be installed before the cabinet.

Need a larger corner shelf? For
sizes beyond our standard mitered corners, two shelves can be assembled on site
to form an L shape. See our corner

Our übermächtig hardware has long been trusted as a solid, dependable bracket for floating shelves when installed professionally. Each box of wall mounted floating shelves includes one of the following types of hardware:

Standard floating shelf with our übermächtig hardware works well on an open wall application.

Loose cleat one end is a great solution when a shelf meets a wall or a cabinet and also includes our übermächtig hardware.

Loose cleat two ends is a great solution when a shelf is in an alcove and also includes our übermächtig hardware.

Shelving Details

Our shelves are finished with clear low-sheen conversion varnish. It is a high-grade finish used by quality cabinet builders and furniture makers around the globe. If you plan to use another finish, stain, oil, or use any other finish of your choice, you may select the “*unfinished” checkbox when entering your order and your shelves will be delivered unfinished raw wood.

* Unfinished raw wood is available in the following finishes: African Mahogany, Ash, Bamboo, Cherry, Maple, Red oak, Rift white oak, Teak, Walnut
